The Oregon Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin major I-5 Rogue River bridge and road work near Valley of the Rogue State Park this spring.

Due to the narrow widths of the bridges, the contractor will work one direction at a time and divert I-5 traffic onto nearby Rogue River Highway. This detour will take place at night between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.

The I-5 project is between Gold Hill and the City of Rogue River (Exit 45A to 48) and Oregon 99 – Rogue River Highway.

There will be single lane closures on the bridges leading into and out of the full closure time period.

Expect nighttime work, one directon at a time, for a total of 12 weeks. For safety and productivity, the contractor will work on the bridges closed to traffic.

Resurfacing the bridge decks will include deep repairs to the damaged concrete. The decks will then receive a protective overlay as well as new joints for a smooth ride.

The project team is coordinating with Oregon State Parks on access to Valley of the Rogue State Park.
