The Oregon Department of Transportation reports that the southbound span of the Interstate Bridge will close the night of Saturday, February 12 while crews work on cables and other maintenance projects.

The closure will begin at 10:30 p.m. Saturday February 12 with re-opening by 7:00 a.m. Sunday February 13.The work will have no impact on northbound span traffic

As a detour, Oregon-bound traffic should take S.R. 14 east to Interstate 205 south over the Glenn Jackson Bridge.

The sidewalk on the southbound span will be closed but the sidewalk on the northbound span will remain open for travel in both directions.

The work is part of our effort, as detailed in our Strategic Action Plan, to preserve and maintain a safe transportation system.

The Interstate Bridge is jointly owned by Oregon and Washington and is maintained and operated by ODOT. The northbound span opened in 1917 and the southbound span in 1958.
