The Washington State Department of Transportation reports that nighttime travelers who use Interstate 5 near Vader and State Route 507 near Centralia, should add extra time to their trips next week.
Beginning Monday, August 26, Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will close sections of highway during work to repair structural damage to overpasses from oversized loads hitting the structures.
Construction Details
- Southbound I-5 at the State Route 506 overpass: From 9:00 p.m. Sunday, August 25, until 4:30 a.m. Monday, August 26, and from 9:00 p.m. Monday, August 26 until 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, crews will detour all lanes of southbound I-5 at the State Route 506 overpass to use the SR 506 off- and on-ramps to bypass construction.
- Both directions of SR 507 at the Skookumchuck River Bridge: Crews will close both directions of the Skookumchuck River Bridge at Pearl Street, near Centralia, from 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, until 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 28, and from 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 28 until 6:00 a.m., Thursday, August 29. Travelers should use an alternate route during the closures.
