The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is rebuilding the interchanges at Thorne Lane and Berkeley Street in Pierce County, and adding general purpose and auxiliary lanes to I-5. The work schedule for this project is outlined below:
- Daytime shoulder closures are allowed on both directions of I-5 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the project limits.
- Single and double lane closures on northbound and southbound I-5 each week night from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. each following day.
- Typically, no two adjacent ramps will be closed overnight simultaneously.
- Some work is weather sensitive and could be rescheduled.
Local street closures
- 146th Street at Murray Road will close around-the-clock starting at 9 p.m., Saturday, March 14 until further notice.
- Starting Monday, March 16, Union Avenue between Spruce Street and Thorne Lane is closed around-the-clock until further notice.

Monday, May 11
- Northbound I-5 exit to 41st Division Drive will close from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
- Southbound I-5 exit to Berkeley Street will close from 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
- Thorne Lane on-ramp to northbound I-5 will close from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Tuesday, May 12
- Northbound I-5 exit to 41st Division Drive will close from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.
- Thorne Lane on-ramp to northbound I-5 will close from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Wednesday, May 13
- Northbound I-5 exit to 41st Division Drive will close from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Thursday.
- Thorne Lane on-ramp to northbound I-5 will close from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Thursday.
- Southbound I-5 exit to Gravelly lake Drive will close from 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Thursday.
Thursday, May 14
- Northbound I-5 exit to 41st Division Drive will close from 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Friday.
