The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has begun restoring pavement from 0.1 mile South of Avery Parkway Overcrossing to 5/405 Separation through the cities of Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Hills, Lake Forest and Irvine.

The work includes concrete slab replacement, grind and groove concrete pavement, shoulder and on/off ramp work, loop detectors replacement, modify traffic signals modification, signage upgrades and pavement delineations.

Lane closures will occur as work is performed between 10:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. There will be no full freeway closures. Signs will be posted to alert motorists.

This is a $10.6M SHOPP (State Highway Operation and Protection Program) project. The project is expected to last until November 2016.
