The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) reports that Interstate 5 motorists should expect lane closures and congestion the next two months between Glendale and Azalea as paving work has begun.
Northbound I-5 traffic will be limited to a single lane Sunday night to Friday morning the next two weeks (May 7-12 and May 14-19). Southbound I-5 traffic will be limited to a single lane between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m., each Sunday night to Friday morning.
Paving will begin in the northbound direction and may require nighttime ramp closures at Azalea (Exit 88) the week of May 7-12. Motorists can also expect nighttime ramp closures at Barton Road (Exit 83) and Quines Creek (Exit 86) the week of May 14-19.
During nighttime I-5 ramp closures, motorists are advised to use alternate routes. Watch for detour signs and roadside message boards.
All paving work will take place at night (7:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m.), though some travel lanes may remain closed during daytime.
