The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is currently undertaking significant construction near Exit 278 on I-5 to facilitate the construction of the new Aurora-Donald interchange. As part of this project, several ramp closures are scheduled, impacting both northbound and southbound traffic.
Scheduled I-5 Ramp Closures
- Northbound I-5 on-ramp: Closed from August 7th to August 14th.
- Southbound I-5 off-ramp, Exit 278: Closed from August 14th to August 21st.
- Southbound I-5 on-ramp: Closed from August 21st to August 28th.
These closures are contingent on weather conditions and may be subject to change.
Additional I-5 Traffic Impacts
In addition to ramp closures, nightly construction activities are planned from Sunday to Thursday, with occasional weekend work. Expect up to two lanes closed nightly in either direction on I-5 between 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Furthermore, other roads in the project area may experience single lane closures from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Drivers should also anticipate reduced speed limits of 55 mph in the work zone, grooved pavement in travel lanes and along shoulders, as well as construction-related noise and delays.
