The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) reports that the southbound Interstate 5 off-ramp to Interurban Avenue South in Tukwila will close Tuesday night, August 1, as a regional pavement repair project concludes work.
Beginning at 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 1, until 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, the off-ramp from southbound I-5 to Interurban Avenue South will close. A signed, 4.5-mile detour will guide people around the closure using southbound I-5 to northbound I-405 and the off-ramp to Interurban Avenue South.
The ramp closure represents the final scheduled work for a regional pavement repair project that began last spring. During the project, contractor crews working for WSDOT repaired pavement and sealed cracks along sections of seven highways and 20 interstate on- and off-ramps across King and Snohomish counties, creating a smoother ride and extending the life of the roadways.
