Crews will start the third leg of construction on Interstate 5 in the Orland area of Glenn County, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced.
Various northbound and southbound lane and ramp closures between County Road 16 and County Road 3 will begin Monday, June 6 and continue through June 21. In addition, motorists can expect intermittent lane restrictions during the overnight hours, starting at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 5. The final set of short-term lane closures are scheduled to start June 22.
The work is part of a $9.6 million project to lower the roadway under three overpasses – County Road 16 (South Street), County Road 7 and County Road 3. The project will increase the vertical clearance for large big-rig loads traveling on I-5.
Caltrans advises motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert.”
