The Caifornia Department of Transportation is currently restoring I-5 pavement from 0.1 mile South of Avery Parkway Overcrossing to 5/405 Separation through the cities of Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Hills, Lake Forest and Irvine.
This $7.5 million I-5 construction project includes concrete slab replacement, grind and groove concrete pavement, shoulder and on/off ramp work, loop detectors replacement, modify traffic signals
modification, signage upgrades and pavement delineations. The Project has 250 working days actual construction started March 21, 2016 and completion by Spring 2017.
Lane closures for this I-5 construction project will occur as work is performed between 10 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. weekdays and occasionally Friday and Saturday 10 p.m. – 8:00 a.m. There will be no full freeway closures. There will be ramp closures necessary for the maintenance work and detour signs will be posted to alert motorists.
