The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is alerting motorists that traffic-interfering work has closed the westbound Arena Boulevard loop on-ramp to southbound Interstate 5 (I-5) for pavement repairs.

The work is scheduled through 9:00 p.m. Saturday, June 29. No two consecutive ramps will be closed concurrently. The extended closure is necessary for worker and motorists’ safety.

I-5 Location

  • Westbound Arena Boulevard loop on-ramp to I-5 southbound (Exit 524) in North Natomas.

I-5 Detour:

  • Motorists can continue westbound to Duckhorn Drive and make a U-turn to use the eastbound Arena Boulevard slip on-ramp to southbound I-5 (Los Angeles).
  • Motorists can also use the Del Paso Road on-ramps as an alternate route for southbound I-5.

Nearby residents should expect to hear loud, intermittent noises from heavy construction equipment, including vehicle back-up warning alarms.

Motorists should expect delays and plan for additional travel time for their commute.
