Washington I-5 Ramp and Lane Closures For HOV Lane Construction

The Washington State Department of Transportation reports that two I-5 High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane construction projects  in the Tacoma area will result in both short term and long term ramp and lane closures.

These two projects lay the foundation for new HOV lanes on I-5 in Tacoma and northbound into Fife.

These projects are located on Interstate 5 near the Tacoma Dome between M Street and Portland Avenue from milepost 132.8 to 135.2, and northbound on I-5 between East Portland Avenue and Port of Tacoma Road.

The northbound I-5 exit to the City Center (#133) and I-5 collector/distributor lanes from State Route 16 and East 38th Street will close on Tuesday, December 1 between 12:01 am and 4:00 am.

The northbound SR 7 on-ramp to southbound I-5 through early 2016.

The A Street on-ramp to northbound I- 705/I-5 through project completion.
